     Charity Poker Auction held for Jeff Gordon's charity

Jeff Gordon, four time NASCAR champion, is teaming up with Chris Moneymaker, 2003 World Series of Poker Champion, for a charity tournament of Texas No Limit Hold’Em poker that will benefit Gordon’s charity The Jeff Gordon Foundation. The charity is also the official charity of the 2006 World Series of Poker. Satellites for the Jeff Gordon Foundation Classic began in November at selected Harrah’s properties , and the finals are scheduled for March 7th and 8th at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.


The tournament is sure to draw lost of attention and funds in itself, but Gordon has taken it one step further. After the end of the tournament, there will be a charity auction that will enable fans and collectors to bid on a variety of items from the tournament as well as pieces of memorabilia donated by the foundation’s celebrity participants. The auction will be at www.GoMotorBids.com, the official online auction site of Jeff Gordon, Inc. All of the items will be autographed by the stars, and proceeds will also go to the Jeff Gordon Foundation.


The centerpiece for the auction will be an actual full size poker tournament table that will be used in the tournament. The table has been custom made for the Classic, and has been autographed by Gordon and Moneymaker, There will also be a hood for the promotional racing car built for the movie Racing Stripes, autographed by Gordon, Dustin Hoffman, Frankie Munich, Jeff Foxworthy, David Spade, Frankie Muniz, Steve Harvey and other celebrities who provided the voices for characters of the movie. There will also be several other auction items from the movie.


Harvey and Spade are also donating personally designed hand painted collector plates, used at the Racing Stripe premier. Other notables who donated and autographed items for the event are Annika Sorenstam, Tiger Woods, Maria Sharapova, Peyton Manning, Venus Williams, and Tony Stewart.
