Battleship Poker a hit at PokerStars Caribbean Adventure
There is nothing like nostalgia meeting new trends, and Battleship Poker
brings that combination together for fans of poker. Battleship Poker made
its debut on the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, and most sources agree that
is was one of the highlights of the cruise. The main highlight, of course,
was the victory of young onliner Steven Paul-Ambrose, but the introduction
of Battleship Poker brought the world of online poker in which Ambrose made
his start up to a new level.
Battleship Poker is based on the game that many of us have played in our
childhood, battleshipt. It takes the basic head-to-head action of Battleship and
combines it with online poker. Each player is battling head to head with their
laptop computeres in front of them, until one player outlasted the other and
took the Championship of Battleship Poker. Players used to online poker were
challenged by the ability to see and be seen while playing at a monitor by their
opponent.
The introduction proved so popular that Battleship Poker has made a return
appearance at the latest PokerStars event. Season Two for the championships are
currently being held in Monte Carlo for the European Poker Tour Grand Final, and
Battleship Poker is back on Mediterranean Poker.
Some of the big names in the game joined in the action in January’s Battleship
Poker tournament, including Michael Mizrachi along with brothers Eric and
Robert, PokeStars members Chris Moneymaker and Isabelle Mercier, and Daniel
Negreanu. Michael Banducci took the event, to the surprise of some. The latest
installment of Battleship Poker saw 32 players join the field, each buying-in
with $500 for a final prize of $16,000. Noah Boeken took the BPC in ten hands.
